The Macula Foundation is pleased to present the most comprehensive resources available on macular degeneration: the Age-related Macular Degeneration CD-ROM, and a 72-page large-print booklet. With over 50 minutes of high-quality video and full-color animation, this CD-ROM goes far beyond the educational materials available today. The full-color booklet is the most comprehensive resource for macular degeneration patients and their families. The updated version of the book is due to be out by early August, 2006).

We expect to have the updated CD-ROM by the beginning of August, 2006.

The Age-related Macular Degeneration CD-ROM begins with the same core of information available at the macula.org website. Added to this are:

14 large-format informational movies

An extensive section on low vision aids and rehabilitation

Over 60 pages of diagrams and text

An interactive Amsler Grid test

A simple, easy-to-use interface designed for the older adult

A straightforward "Help" section

A low vision specialist is trained in the selection and fitting of visual aids.

This CD-ROM is ideal for the macular degeneration patient and their families to learn about the disease. The wealth of material on the CD helps to promote better communication between health care providers, patients, and the patients' families.
