to Enlarge Text
To
enlarge the text on your screen, you will need to adjust the settings in your
browser. Instructions are provided for the three major browsers in use today.
You can also change type fonts and colors by adjusting your browser's settings.
If you use
an Apple Macintosh computer, a great application called CloseView
(part of the system software for Mac OS 7, 8 & 9) is designed specifically
for the needs of the visually impaired. Click

Netscape
Internet
Explorer
AOL
4.0+
Netscape 4.x users:
- Choose
"Edit" from the menu bar.
- Select
"Preferences"
- Open
the "Appearance" folder, then click on "Fonts". From here you can change your
"font" and "size" using pull down menus.
- Click
the "OK" button before exiting to put new preferences into effect.
Older
Versions of Netscape (2.x, 3.x)
- Choose
"Options" from the menu bar.
- Select
"General Preferences."
- Click
on the "Fonts" tab.
- Select
"Choose Font." From here you can change your "font" and "size" by clicking
on the "Choose Font" buttons.
Internet Explorer 4.x users:
- Choose
"View" from the menu bar, then select "Internet Options".
- Click
on the "General" tab in the dialog box, and select the "Fonts" button.
- Select
the size from the "Font Size" pull down menu.
- Click
"OK" twice to close both dialog boxes and put your new preferences
into effect.
Older
Versions of Internet Explorer (3.x)
- Choose
"View" from the menu bar.
- Select
"Fonts."
- Set
the font size to the desired size ("Largest" for example).
America OnLine 4.0 Users:
- Double
click the "My AOL" icon on the top menu bar.
- Select
"Preferences" in the pull down menu. To change font: scroll down to the "font"
icon on the left side of the dialog box. Use the pull down menus to the right
side to adjust and change the font. To change color: Scroll down to the "Toolbar"
icon on the left side of the dialog box. Use the pull down menus to the right
side to adjust your color. Other specialized appearance options may be found
under the "General" icon.
