Windows 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP

PROBLEM: Do you get an error message saying that "QuickTime is not installed" when you try to launch the ICG program?

SOLUTION: Most often, the necessary version of QuickTime for Windows is not installed on your system. This CD-ROM requires QuickTime version 5 or newer. On the "ICG" CD-ROM, double-click the "ICG.exe" icon to check for QuickTime 5. You will be prompted to install QuickTime 5 (included on the CD) if it is not already on your system. During the installation process, you will be asked where you would like to put the different QuickTime components. The default path suggested by the installer should be fine. At the end of the installation, you will be asked to enter a registration number if you have one. You do not need to register QuickTime to use this program, and a registration number is not provided.

PROBLEM: Movies played on the PC have garbled sound.

SOLUTION: Go to the "QuickTime Settings" Control Panel in your Control Panel folder. Find the "Sound Out" pop-up menu and set "Sound Out" to Direct Sound. Then click on the "Options" button and set the FIFO to 3 times the current setting. This should fix the sound problem.

Macintosh OS 8, 9, X(Classic mode)
